أنواع سباقات الهجن
السباقات التجريبية: وهي سباقات غير رسمية، تهدف لتدريب الهجن على السباقات و اكسابهم اللياقة البدنية العالية للإعداد والإشتراك في السباقات الرسمية.
السباقات الصغيرة: وهي أيضا سباقات غير رسمية و يخصص لها ميادين صغيرة للسباق تتراوح مساحتها حوالي 1 كم، وتقام السباقات تبعًا لبعض العادات و التقاليد في دولة الإمارات المتبعة في المناسبات السارة مثل حفلات الزواج.
السباقات الكبيرة: وهي السباقات الرسمية و التي تنظمها الدولة وهي سباقات عامة و يشارك فيها مختلف هجن الدولة، و تشمل التالي:
سباق الجائزة الكبرى: ويتم تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان رحمه الله و تبلغ جوائزه 10 ملايين درهم و تشارك فيها الهجن من داخل الدولة و خارجها، حيث يشارك فيها مجلس تعاون الخليج العربي، و بعض الدول العربية الأخرى، وهو سباق يأخذ أهمية خاصة و يستعد له أفراد أصحاب الهجن استعداداً كبيراًخلال الموسم.
السباق الختامي: و تشارك فيه أيضا الهجن من داخل الدولة و خارجها، و تشارك المؤسسات و الشركات العامة و الخاصة في منح جوائز نقدية أو جوائز عينية مثل السيارات ، ويتم تحديد جائزة لكل شوط، ويعتبر هذا السباق ختام لموسم سباقات الهجن.
أنواع سباقات المحامل
تتضمن سباقات المحامل التراثية ثلاث فئات أو أنواع وهي: 60 قدماً و43 قدماً و22 قدماً، وكل واحدة منها لها مواصفاتها الخاصة، حيث يبلغ طول المحمل في الفئة الأولى 60 قدماً، فيما يبلغ عرض المحمل 14 قدماً، ويصل طول الشراع الكبير إلى 65 قدماً، فيما يبلغ طول الشراع الصغير 55 قدماً، ويمتلك المحمل دقلين وصارياً واحداً، ويبلغ طول الأخير 38 قدماً، ولا تقل التكلفة المالية لصناعته عن 500 ألف درهم.
وفي فئة 43 قدماً، يبلغ طول المحمل 43 قدماً، وعرضه عشرة ونصف أقدام، ويجب أن لا يقل عمقه عن ثلاثة أقدام ونصف القدم، ويحتوي المحمل على شراع واحد ودقل واحد، وصارٍ واحد أيضاً، ويبلغ طول الصاري 32 قدماً، ويتكلف المحمل حوالي 300 ألف درهم.
وتأتي الفئة الأخيرة في المحمل الشراعي، وهي 22 قدماً، ويبلغ طول المحمل فيها 22 قدماً، وعرضه 6 أقدام، ويحتوي على شراع واحد طوله 28 قدماً، وله صارٍ واحد، طوله 14 قدماً، ويجب ألا يقل عمق المحمل عن قدمين، وتعد هذه الفئة هي الأقل تكلفة بين المحامل الثلاثة، حيث تتكلف نحو 60 ألف درهم.
وهناك سباق دلما، وسباق أدنوك، وسباق أبو الأبيض، وسباق عيد الاتحاد، وسباق غناضة للمحامل الشرعية.
Types of camel racing
Trial races: These are unofficial races, aiming to train camels for races and provide them with high physical fitness to prepare for and participate in official races.
Small races: These are also unofficial races, and small fields are allocated for racing, with an area of about 1 km. Races are held according to some customs and traditions in the Emirates that are followed on happy occasions such as wedding parties.
Large races: These are official races organized by a state. They are public races and the various camels of the state participate in them. They include the following:
Grand Prix Race: It is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, and its prizes amount to 10 million dirhams. Camels from inside and outside the country participate in it, as the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council and some other Arab countries participate in it. It is a race that is of importance. Especially since individuals who own camels prepare for it with great preparation during the season.
The final race: Camels from inside and outside the country also participate, and public and private institutions and companies participate in awarding cash prizes or in-kind prizes such as cars, and the prize for each race is determined. This race is considered the conclusion of the camel racing season.
Types of bearing races
The heritage bearing races include three categories or types: 60 feet, 43 feet, and 22 feet, and each of them has its own specifications, as the length of the bearing in the first category is 60 feet, while the width of the bearing is 14 feet, and the length of the large sail reaches 65 feet, while The length of the small sail is 55 feet, and the ship has two decks and one mast, the latter of which is 38 feet long, and the financial cost of its manufacture is not less than 500 thousand dirhams.
In the 43-foot category, the length of the bearing is 43 feet, its width is ten and a half feet, and its depth must not be less than three and a half feet. The bearing contains one sail, one dike, and one mast as well, and the length of the mast is 32 feet, and the bearing costs about 300 thousand. Dirham.
The last category is the sail carrier, which is 22 feet. The length of the carrier is 22 feet and its width is 6 feet. It contains one sail, 28 feet long, and one mast, 14 feet long. There is the Dalma race, the ADNOC race, the Abu Al-Abyad race, the Union Day race, and the Ghanada race for legal bearings.
